In 1998, Zhi-Shan ventured into the remote mountainous regions of Taiwan, specifically Jianshi, to assist impoverished Atayal children in accessing education. Over the past 27 years, our service areas have expanded to include Taipei, New Taipei, Yilan, Kaohsiung, Pingtung, and beyond. We have implemented 26 service programs throughout Taiwan, focusing on empowering indigenous women and youth, aiming to nurture the young and empower the strong.In 1998, recognizing the challenges faced by indigenous communities in Taiwan due to remoteness, lack of social resources, and cultural differences, Zhi-Shan launched the "Assistance for Impoverished Children" program in four schools in the mountains of Jianshi, Hsinchu County. This initiative aimed to help indigenous children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds access education.
